While here in Granada, there are about a million and one places that one wouldn’t normally read about. In order to get the full-on experience, I’ve had to go out and search, high and low, for what the city has to offer and, let me just say- it most definitely has a lot of gems that, with a bit of prodding, I’ve stumbled upon and have surprised me. Here are three of my favorites:

To start, there is this small bakery right around the corner from the residencia that, as far as I’m concerned, offers the best chocolate-filled croissants- be sure to ask for it warmed up!

If I had to chose one place in this city as my favorite, as tough a choice as that may be, I would wistfully reply “Plaza Nueva,” which is a ten minute walk from the residence hall. There are literally dozens, upon dozens, of plazas in Granada, but this one is most definitely my favorite, and not only because it provides me with a magnificent view of La Alhambra, from below.
The Plaza is also a place where many go to boast their skills and talents. For example, this entertaining fella that I like to refer to as "the silver man," who stands stock-still, until a passerby walks along and he will then proceed to do various robot moves, accompanied by whizzing sound effects. 
Plaza Nueva can also be tacked on as the place where I stumbled upon a lovely man by the name of John Haydn Colley who spends his time laying out and sketching the city around him (see above, and below, pictures). It's quite fantastic, really, to look at what it is that he sees, and how he manages to capture it so precisely.
I've also seem to have grown rather fond of the various small literal-hole-in-the-wall shops (see above), as well as the many narrowed streets (see below) that are mainly geared toward tourists, but that I happen to find oh-so intriguing. I love the knick-knacks that they offer, as well as the handmade goods that can be found there. Also, I most certainly know the right places to get my friends and family  those particular souvenirs that they'd love!
