Why did you choose to study abroad?
During my junior year in high school one of my best friends was an exchange student from Paris. As I have always dreamt of traveling, I quickly befriended her and ended up going to visit her after I graduated a year later. That trip was a catalyst for my traveling passion.
Why did you choose your study abroad city?
London has always been at the top of my list of places to go. But two major situations happened: one of my professors at my home institution is from England and I absolutely love her. Second, I am a marketing and economics major and the classes in the London schools were most dynamic and constructive to my degree.
What are you most looking forward to during your study abroad experience?
I grew up in a rural area of California where everybody knows everybody. I live just a town over from my parents and still go to the church that I have been attending for the past 17 years. I am most excited to not be “Carmen or Scott’s daughter” anymore. I am ready to be Hanna Neitzke. Of course, I am also more than excited to travel and learn new cultures and meet new people.
I have a dog named Dudley, I was almost an art history major, I played basketball for 15 years, and I cannot drink cold liquids without a straw.
