It’s hard putting together the words to articulate how I’ve changed since my journey in Europe started four months ago. Its dream-like, independence-saturated foreign world filled with new experiences and sights already feels like a daytime reverie. It’s easy to show off the selfies, to squish the “candid” moments into perfect little squares, to show the souvenirs I’ve picked up along the way and the stories that come with them – it’s even easy to gush about the “most amazing four months of my life – ever,” but…

Choosing where to live for my first time in an entirely new city (and country!) prompted me to do some soul-searching. Did I want the expected comforts of an apartment and the responsibility that’s attached to it? Or did I want the bustling student population just across the hall? And would I have to sacrifice one to get the other? I chose the guarantee of students as neighbors and didn’t have to sacrifice much. Sure, I don’t have a private kitchen, bathroom, or living area. My street is filled with boulangeries, cafes and cool places to eat. Plus, every Tuesday and Friday, there is a farmers…

Dana F. is the Fall 2017 MOJO Photographer in Paris, France. She is currently a junior studying Cinema & Photography at Ithaca College.

Studying abroad is something that I knew I had to do in college. The idea of studying in another country excited me like nothing else! When the time finally came to apply, the only thing I knew what that I wanted to go to Paris. After researching many programs, I stumbled upon CEA and it seemed like the perfect match. As a Business Administration and Sociology double major, I wanted to study something in the business field while still being able to take classes that I would enjoy. I’ve been…
