Was I scared when I went to France?  Well, I had traveled a lot. I had already been to France four times and gone to 27 different countries. So, was I scared to travel abroad? Nope, I wasn’t. What I was most scared about was this was going to be an ordinary trip for me and I wouldn’t have that life-changing experience everyone talks about when studying abroad. I couldn’t write when I arrived on my nerves because my biggest fear was it would be to basic. I…

Throughout my entire study abroad experience, I have been extremely impressed with CEA (and this is not because I am blogging for them). You don’t really understand all the little things CEA does that you wouldn’t have with another program until you land in a foreign country. Everything form setting up your accommodations, arranging excursions and cultural experiences, The fact CEA organized and rented me an apartment with roommates for the four months I am here makes a huge difference. Another thing different about CEA that I didn’t…

Living in a different country and learning a new language can be difficult to say the least. You might feel like language barriers are squeezing you into a tunnel when all you want to do is communicate globally. I have spent four months in a country with a different language. Some language barriers did arise, but hereare three techniques I learned to help adapt to French and ultimately do what I came here to do: immerse myself in the French culture. Implementing these techniques in any country with…

Tour around Antibes with me and you can see the life I am living right now in the French Riviera! There are so many great times to be had here on the Mediterranean. Stroll on the beach, admire the yachts, discover new, old streets, take the bus. And, of course, what would life be in France if you didn’t stop for coffee and tread every day? Enjoy the journey! Jamie CM is the Fall 2017 MOJO Blogger in the French Riviera, France.  She is currently a Junior studying…

What’s life like in the French Riviera as an international student? Pretty great, actually! First, Wake Up First, I have to wake up in the beautiful apartment room CEA booked for me.  I have two roommates.  One day, my sheets were all washed together, and the dark pink dyed the light pink, I think it makes the bed look more like me!   Make Lunch The bread is delicious but it goes stale so quickly; I can only eat half a loaf before it goes stale. I love…

One of the best things about living in a city is that pretty much everywhere is walking distance. Living in Barcelona make city living even more exciting because you get to experience a new culture at the same time. This video features all of my favorite places, from Parc de la Citudella to La Rambla. On a daily basis, I pass these streets and buildings and it makes me realize how lucky I am to be able to study abroad in this beautiful city! Annie M. is the Fall 2017 MOJO…

As a Communication Major, I think it is vital to career growth to learn how to communicate and build relationships in a culturally diverse setting. Making friends and going to lunch with students from different countries helps better understand cultural differences.   International Business School Makes Learning More Culturally Diverse My international business class has students from 17 different countries and is taught by a professor from England who lives in France. I believe it is a much more interesting and globally diverse class than learning international business from an…

Dublin can be described as a small big city. Within a few weeks, it’s very easy to find your way around. No one really uses street names for directions, you find your way based on landmarks. Whenever you’re lost, you look for the large needle, named the Spire, to find your bearings. Walking and public transportation is the main way to get around, and here’s a typical day for me walking, traveling, and having a great time in Dublin! Cali F. is the Fall 2017 MOJO Photographer in…

I love the Mediterranean, so it was an absolute pleasure to be able to volunteer for Nettoyons La Nature (Let’s clean up) day! This event was organized in cooperation with Mediterranée 2000, an association that aims to protect the French coastlines and the Mediterranean Sea. We went by train from Antibes to Theoule sur Mer, which is in the Esterel Mountains to the west of Cannes.   Like everything here in the French Riviera, Theoule sur Mer was absolutely beautiful and we had a wonderful experience as volunteers! A…

After years of dreaming, months of planning, and days of traveling, it is difficult to really describe how amazing it is to be here in Rome. So what brought me to Rome? I always knew I wanted to study abroad. My mom studied in Reims, France for an entire year in college while she pursued her French minor and had an absolutely amazing experience. Last summer, we traveled throughout Europe and actually had the opportunity to return to Reims. My mom’s old roommate from study abroad still lives…
