Every week or so CEA London takes us on a stellar tour of the city. This is not your typical tour to see Big Ben or the London Eye, but something a little more off the beaten path; something to get us acclimated with our new home and experience a different side of London. This past week, we had the pleasure of going on a Street Art Tour around the neighborhood of Shoreditch. This is a vibrantly artsy, recently trendy, and expensive neighborhood. Once filled with the prostitutes hunted by…

I’ve only been in London for a short time, but I’ve managed to squeeze in quite a bit of time at some of London’s amazing and FREE museums. Transporting you around the world and across time, the exhibits in London’s museums are absolutely unreal. Although I was experiencing some pretty serious jet lag when viewing artifacts, I was in awe of nearly every single display. The British Library This is not the first place people think of when it comes to London’s museum scene, but the British Library…

You’ve just packed your entire life into a couple of suitcases, left all your family and friends at home, and traveled half way around the world to a foreign city with foreign people. In words, this experience sounds absolutely terrifying. In real life, this experience is magical and life-changing to say the least. Thanks to the wonderful CEA staff based in London, feeling right at home will take no time at all and you’ll be longing for them and this place before you know it. From the CEA…

There wasn’t a moment, or person, or second that made me fall in love with London. I wish there was one single defining moment that made it for me because it would make it easier to explain my experience abroad. The life here, the people here, the food, the culture—the London is all apart of what made this whole experience abroad something more magical than I expected. At first, I didn’t want to be here. The overwhelming new city experience enveloped me and made it so difficult. Talking to…

I think it’s safe to say that my study abroad experience in London has completely changed my life in ways I could never have imagined. In these three months, I’ve gotten the chance to speak with people from countries all across Europe and Asia, and got the chance to visit and experience cultures vastly different from my own. This theme of unfamiliarity became the perfect backdrop on which to analyze myself and learn things I have previously overlooked while in the comfort of my home culture. Here are a few things…

Since I’ve passed the midway point of the semester, I thought I’d share my experience with the academics here at Westminster. Although I’m a Management student at my home institution, I decided to take a variety of different classes in different subjects, such as sociology, literature, and writing while abroad. This has allowed me to interact with students of many different backgrounds, and broaden my perspective of academic life in the UK. Class Structure The biggest difference I’ve noticed is the structure and scheduling of classes. At my home institution…

Paris, France. This iconic city that makes it so hard to ever want to leave Europe. Among many of the excursions that CEA provides, this is by far the most extensive, longest, and most magical of all. To start off our trip, CEA, partnered with Somewhere New, a tour company, met us at St. Pancras station early in the morning in order for us to catch the Eurostar! The ride over was so quick and convenient, minus the wifi (pro tip: never use the wifi on the eurostar)…
