Just like CEA claims, Airport pickup from London’s largest airport was a breeze. Everyone easily found the CEA meeting point and the ride to central London was smooth. If you have any doubts about navigating your way through the nation’s largest city at first, have no fear. CEA is there to pick you up and take you right where you need to go. “Studying abroad is going to be an amazing experience, you’re going to learn so much.” -everyone I heard this phrase, or one just like this, countless times from family, friends, teachers – almost everyone I talked to about my plans for my spring semester. I responded each time with a big smile and something to the effect of “I am so excited, I can’t wait.” The response had become almost instinctive, and behind that smile hid uncertainty and a wonderful sense of anticipation. Throughout the process of planning…

The trip to York, England was a highlight of all the CEA trips. The magical, medieval city has a such a rich history, I felt I was living my 6th grade Medieval Times dreams. The CEA crew boarded a bus and journeyed  four hours north of London to the charming town. The first stop of the day was York Minster Cathedral. This breathtaking church is the site of over 2,000 years of history. We spent a good amount of time in here guided by the informative audio tour….

While no two days are alike, this video gives you an insight into just how jam packed and adventurous your life can be. London is a diverse city with endless sights to see, foods to eat, and adventurous to have. Although I was taking three classes and had an internship, I never felt like I was too busy to explore. I have about a month and a half left of my study abroad experience, so lately i have enjoyed just exploring Prague in my free time. The tourist attractions and activities are fun but I have found many other unique (and free) things to do all around the city. These are my four free and favorite things to do in Prague! Petrin Park The Petrin Tower (or mini version of the Effiel Tower) is a common tourist attraction but what most tourists do not realize is the surrounding…

A major part of the study abroad experience is living in and among the culture. During my semester in Prague, I get the opportunity to live in an apartment with four roommates in Prague 1. I love that my apartment is in a regular complex and I live alongside Czechs. A great part about traveling with CEA is that they organize and furnish your apartment with everything you need to have an amazing study abroad experience! Come and take a quick tour of my apartment! Upon arriving in Greenwich, we went straight to the National Maritime. Although it was one of the smallest museums I’ve visited while in London, it was surprisingly one of the most interactive ones. Because we went during the day, we were alone in the museum and things got pretty crazy… trying on captain outfits and building warships out of blocks! After checking out the museum, we headed to Saint Alfege Church, but not before, snapping some pictures of the Royal Naval College. Although much smaller, Alfege reminded me of…

This Lenten season, I decided to give up wheat gluten (the main protein in wheat). That means no bread, cake, pasta, etc. Due to the increasing realization many have about their gluten intolerance and the “trendy” health benefits a gluten free lifestyle provides, there are hundreds of options on the market for gluten free foods. However, this 40 day challenge is still no easy feat. Studying abroad with limited time and budget makes this experience that much more difficult. Usually wide eyed and eager to explore the colorful depths…

Different from the all-day excursion to Karlovy Vary, some of the excursions that CEA offers are actually located in Prague. These activities are usually on a weekday and last just a few hours. They are a great way to meet other CEA students and learn a little more about Prague. The activities are great because they take us to unique places that I would never be able to find on my own. One of my favorite activities was the Strahov Monastery and Brewery Tour. The tour met at…

jíst is Czech for ‘to eat.’ Prague is home to many wonderful restaurants, cafes, and other eateries that offer a wide variety of dishes, flavors, and cultures. That said, sometimes it’s nice to grab a quick meal or snack on the way home or between classes. Prague has a few American chain companies like McDonald’s, KFC, or Burger King but I wanted to try something new. I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite fast food options that Prague offers! Burrito Loco Burrito Loco is hands-down…
