Over the past couple of months, I have been completely wrapped up in a certain form of entertainment that I never gave much credit to in the past. It is one that I never took much of an interest in until I stumbled across a prank video on YouTube, that somebody had linked on Facebook. From that moment in time, I have become so interested in this new-found ability for people to publicly video log what they are doing. I also became very excited because most of the…

London is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. There is so much around in the form of fashion and art. Every street, every corner, every wall, every store, and restaurant has its own unique look to it. The individual design of all the different areas is what makes traveling around the city so much fun. I haven’t been and hopefully will never be disappointed when I go somewhere, because I never really know what to expect. Every now and then I will get on…

Before I got to England, I thought I was going to have the hardest time traveling. I heard so much from people before I left that the transportation system in the UK was rather easy, yet every time they explained it to me, I got a little confused. Nah, I am not going to lie, I got REALLY confused. Before anyone leaves to come here, there is usually a period of time where you Google search ‘London tunnel maps, bus lines, taxis’. Not too mention there are so…

Study abroad is an experience like no other. There is never another chance in your life that you can go to another country, live there for several months, and be a full time student. It is a life-altering experience that you can take with you after your college career is over. While in London, I have grown as a person and learned so much.  One of the main things that I think almost every study abroad student acquires is becoming more independent. Before I left for London, I hadn’t…

For my last excursion with CEA London, we went to visit Oxford one Saturday! I’m so sad our CEA trips are over, but I had a lot of fun at Oxford. Here are some pictures from the trip! Oxford University’s Bodleian Library The streets in Oxford are so collegiate looking! The lawn that inspired Alice in Wonderland. You’re NEVER allowed to step on it! Friends and I outside of New College. Oxford is made up of many different colleges based on topic of study. Amazing stained glass windows…

CEA took our London program on a weekend trip to Yorkshire. Within Yorkshire we went to three different places, the city of York, Fountains Abbey, and Haworth.  First we went to York Minster, a cathedral in the center of York.  Inside York Minster you could light prayer candles! Beautiful stained glass windows adorned every facade of the Minster. The York Minster Orb that displayed the history of York Minster inside it.  Musicians playing outside the Cafe Rouge greeted us before lunch. All the streets in York are so…

Before coming to study abroad in London, I was told by several people that I probably wouldn’t like British food. There is a common perception that England in general doesn’t have the greatest cuisine. Through this post I hope to show you that they’re all VERY wrong! Although the typical British meals are different from what people eat in the U.S., with beans and mushrooms as sides during breakfast, there are other options for those who dislike England’s traditional foods. Yes, England is known for their English breakfasts,…
